Bedford’s Victorian Embankment Promenade is often described as ‘the jewel in Bedford’s crown’. It becomes a hive of activity during the River Festival when it becomes home to the Festival Market and a multitude of trade stalls, making it the perfect place to peruse a wide variety of both local and regional goods and maybe to pick up a unique souvenir or gift. You can also keep an eye on the various river activities taking place as you stroll along the riverside.
The Embankment is also perfect for viewing the river activities which take place throughout the duration of the Festival, including the various boat parades and thrilling water demonstrations.
Another hidden gem of the 2018 event was the Dance Music Stage, which is returning to the Embankment riverside for 2022, see below for the phenomenal line-up. The Dance Music Stage is sponsored by Gallagher Developments.
